What is this?

Beyond the Game is an Iowa Baseball Experience that celebrates the baseball heritage of the area. Normally taking place in downtown Dyersville, the 2023 event will be held at the world-famous Field of Dreams Movie Site from August 11-13. Featuring a game between the USA Patriots and Ghost Players, autograph sessions with sports celebrities, a home run exhibition, and a ACO Pro-Am Cornhole tournament with the American Cornhole Organization who is hosting their Go The Distance Festival throughout the weekend.

 

Where will it be?

The majority of the events will occur at the Field of Dreams Movie Site with the others occurring in downtown Dyersville Legacy Square Park as a part of Dyersville Fireman’s 125th Anniversary Celebration. There is a full list of exact events locations with the attached schedule of events.

When will it be?

The events will begin Friday, August 11th, 2023, premiering with the USA Patriots vs. Ghost Players game. Then Saturday, August 12th the full event will be underway with an autograph session, homerun exhibition, Pro-Am Cornhole tournament at the Field of Dreams. Then journey your way to downtown Dyersville for the Fire Department 125th Anniversary Celebration including live music, kid’s activities, a parade, and fireworks. The American Cornhole Organization will be hosting their Go The Distance Festival throughout the weekend with multiple cornhole competitions each day.

Admission/Autograph Tickets?

All events are FREE and open to the public. Tickets are required though for the autograph sessions.

Where will autograph tickets be available? Autograph tickets are available for purchase online ahead of time and on-site if not previously sold out.

What form of payments will be accepted? Payments online will accept credit/debit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and PayPal. Payments on-site will accept cash and credit/debit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover.

Each player will have their own set of tickets with different prices for item type and size. One autograph per ticket.

 

Handicap Accessibility:

Handicap parking is marked and available but limited at the Field of Dreams Movie Site. All lot surfaces are either gravel or grass. When you arrive, be sure to inform the donation booth attendant to get you directed to handicap parking.

Hard surface handicap parking is available in downtown Dyersville near the St. Francis Xavier Basilica and Legacy Park (104 3rd St SW, Dyersville, IA 52040).

Both locations are completely handicap accessible. If you feel the need for special accommodation, please direct all requests to Noah Westhoff at Travel Dubuque at 563.845.7698 for more information.

 

Are pets allowed at the events?

Only service or emotional support animals, please. A service animal means any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability.

All service or emotional support animals must always remain on a leash and owners are also requested to clean up after their animals as necessary. Thank you.

 

Where can I park?

Grass surface parking at the Field of Dreams Movie Site is available for all passenger vehicles. RVs parking will be available along the edge of the gravel exit lane.

Hard surface parking is available in downtown Dyersville on-street, the St. Francis Xavier School lot (203 2nd St SW, Dyersville, IA 52040), and Westside Park (510 3rd St SW, Dyersville, IA 52040).

Travel Dubuque uses the following definitions for vehicles: a passenger vehicle is any car, pick-up truck or SUV. A recreational vehicle (RV) is any vehicle that includes a restroom, pull-behind trailer, or similar vehicle.

 

What kind of beverages will be available?

The Dugout is full-service bar at the Field of Dreams Movie Site. Beverages included, but not limited to are Busch Light, Budweiser, Michelob Ultra, If You Brew It (Corn Lager), and much more. Availability subject to change.

What food vendors will be on-site?

The Stretch will be the main food & beverage vendor available at the Field of Dreams Movie Site. Additional food vendors on site will be Delaney’s Ice Cream, Rockin 5K (BBQ), and Taylor Concessions. Availability subject to change.

Can I bring in chairs or carry-ins?

No food or beverage carry-ins are allowed. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome.

 

Can you send me a brochure or information via mail?

The event does not have brochures to mail out ahead of time. Travel Dubuque does have a flyer for the Field of Dreams Movie Site with general information that can be mailed along with our travel guide.
